Y’ello! My name is Jhonny Garcia. It may seem weird to spell it that way, but according to my family, it’s the Colombian way to spell it. I’m a junior at the University of Florida studying English, education, and TESL. I have two brothers. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Miami, FL. I like to read comics, watch movies, play video games, and learn. Actually, I love learning. However, I have a harder time wrapping my head around abstract things sometimes, but challenges are refreshing.
That’s probably why I like this course: LIT 3400. The qualities and aspects presented in this course are a bit abstract for me. It’s not like learning the rules of algebra or the bodily functions in anatomy. But still.. I’m really enjoying myself!
I wish I could say I’m well read, but I’m really not. I’m actually a sad excuse for an English major haha, but still, I love literature and learning from it. For example, I learned (and I’m still learning) about the qualities that all works have that Calvino writes about in Six Memos for the New Millenium and how they are portrayed in E-literature, along with the foundations of graphic design in Graphic Design The New Basics by Ellen Lupton and Jeniffer Cole Phillips. Combining these different views and aspects that are universally found in literature and graphics, in this blog I will write about my own personal experiences to go alongside it. Here’s to hoping that you, the reader, can relate to my analogies, experiences, and feelings in regard to these abstract ideas.
